I've never understood why anyone would want to celebrate the 4th of July. The American War for Independence was about two things- the 1st to being allowed to settle native land west of the 13 colonies, which they were prohibited from doing by the British Proclamation of 1763. The 2nd was to be able to continue to own slaves unencumbered; slavery was outlawed in England proper in 1772, and the Southern colonies feared it would soon be banned in all the British colonies. They were right- all slavery was outlawed and all slaves freed in the British Empire in 1833.
Now in the enlightened year of 2019, we Americans are all wage slaves utterly owned and controlled by the 1%, while strenuously asserting that we are free. USA! USA! USA!
Personally, I always commemorate Independence Day with the lines 'Alienation, McDonaldization/ Economies and markets/ and Other Such Woes/ From little things big things grew'. Those lines of course are about the revolution I've been waiting for all my life, where we 'take back control of our reasons for living, and people stop buying unnecessary crap', and where we bring down 'the government, the markets, the money', and 'we're one with ourselves, we're one with the land, all living things are equal, all interconnected... From little things big things grew'.
