Friday we made the relatively short journey from Amsterdam to Haarlem, for our 4 pm in store session at the Irrational Library and show later that night at the Patronaat. We didn't get back from the Dokhuis Galerie show/ after party in the lair of Dr Foolish/ Carnival of Hallucinations until well past 3 am, and I was mighty tuckered out.

The irrational Library is part vintage clothing, used books, cd's and vinyl with the 2 chair Mad Daddys Barbershop right snack in the main front room where the performances are held. Which means that you are usually guaranteed an audience of at least 5- the 2 barbers, 2 customers getting their hair cut, and the one the only Mr weird beard, the proprietor, host and master of ceremonies, Joshua Baumgartner. More on Joshua in a moment/ next post, when I've figured out how to get pics and videos off of crapbook messenger.

We also had some folks come to check us out who weren't there for personal grooming. We had a good fun set, had to sing a little louder at times to be heard above the electric clippers but we rose to the occasion. Great thing in a small venue like that you could really hear people singing along, and we were loud enough that some of the foot traffic walking past outside stopped to check us out.

Joshua very kindly brought us back to his lovely house afterwards for delicious zucchini soup. After chilling and meeting his equally lovely family it was time to head out to the Patronaat, which like everywhere else in Haarlem we got to by walking.
