VISUALIZE INDUSTRIAL COLLAPSE Review by Beach Sloth

Blind Uncle Harry - Visualize Industrial Collapse

A delicate take on classic folk gone contemporary Blind Uncle Harry offers a soulful journey with “Visualize Industrial Collapse”. The pure embodiment of post-industrial folk, this is the sound of hope after exploitation of humanity has stopped. Community rests deep in the heart of this sound for the togetherness they celebrate is real. Instrumentally vibrant they incorporate a lot of acoustic beauty deep within the DNA of the sound. Vocals have an intimacy about them for they make sure to hold nothing back. Best of all are the lyrics that have a tried-and-true quality to them.

Digeridoos introduce the album off with that right level of playfulness on “Christmas in Australia”. On “Dope Smokers” there is a wild silliness to it and the shouted choruses further sell the sense of joy. “I Just Want You To Know” unfurls at a delicate deliberate pace. Distinct 60s vibes roll through “Burn Down the High School”. Elements of spiritually radiate on “Jesus is Coming In A Rat Turd” where they capture a living, breathing quality to their work, with the horns a rather nice touch. Stripping things down to the essentials the delicate chords of “My Daddy Died When I Was Nine Years Old” has an intimacy to it. Affection rules over “You Said”. Spirited guitar work guides the whole of “Hole In The Ground” forward. Effortlessly closing it all up is the sweetness of “Four Days Drive To Chiapas”.

“Visualize Industrial Collapse” revels in the exquisitely beautiful detail that Blind Uncle Harry displays with the utmost of ease.
